Full Pay Range: $66,535.82 to $99,803.86 

Actual pay will be based on various factors, such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, proficiency for the role, and internal equity. In addition to base pay, Kwik Trip gives 40% of pre-tax profits back to our coworkers with bonuses ranging from 8-12% of each coworker’s gross annual wage depending on company profitability and offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, 401k, paid time off, and more.

 

 

Kwik Trip is seeking candidates for a full-time Distribution Centers Food Safety and Quality Assurance Manager.

 

This individual is responsible for assisting in the development and management of the HACCP and Food Safety Plans, Quality Assurance Programs, Auditing requirements, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP's), and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) in support of the Kwik Trip Distribution Centers (La Crosse, WI and DeForest, WI) Food Safety initiatives. 

 

The location for this role will be in La Crosse, WI with occasional travel to DeForest, WI.

 

Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Serve as HACCP coordinator and Preventive Controls Qualified Individual for the La Crosse, WI and DeForest, WI distribution Centers.
  • Develop standard operating procedures to ensure the quality and integrity of our products through receiving storage, handling, shipping and distribution.
  • Validate, verify, and review food safety systems. 
  • Maintain communication with Kwik Trip Senior Director of Food Safety and Quality Assurance and the other department’s Food Safety Management to build teamwork and cooperation in order to develop and implement consistent food safety programs. 
  • Verify incoming products meet quality and safety requirements.
  • Work cross-functionally with Distribution Operations, Maintenance, Vendor Risk, Risk Management and Procurement
  • Manage the Food Protection Analysts in each facility. 
  • Help develop and implement appropriate food safety training and coaching guidance. 
  • Liaison between government agency representatives.
  • Assist with any receiving or transportation product concerns.
  • Oversee the environmental programs. 
  • Audit the Distribution facilities to ensure compliance with State, FDA and USDA requirements.  
  • Occasional travel for Food Supply Chain assessments with new and existing vendors.
  • Maintain current technical expertise in food safety, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance through scientific journals, professional organizations and technical conferences.
  • Assist with the Continuous Improvement processes.
  • Coordinate departmental Mock Recalls & maintain records of mock recall documentation.
  • Review and approve product holds, releases, and dispositions.


Qualifications:

  • Educational background typically attained through a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or another related field or 3-5 years’ experience in a quality assurance or quality control industry with 1-2 years of supervisory experience preferred
  • Experience in Food Safety Plan development, HACCP plan development, implementation, and maintenance
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as on a team
  • Ability to analyze and recommend solutions to problems
  • Ability to manage projects and multiple tasks
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills, as well as excellent analytical and problem solving skills with attention to detail
  • Experience/knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Adobe, Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Possess a valid driver's license with an excellent driving record
     

Work Schedule: Typically, Monday through Friday, daytime hours, with occasional weekend shifts and on-call duties. Occasional travel will also be necessary.
